TRIPAREN®
TRIPAREN is a carbohydrate solution containing glucose, fructose and Xylitol in a clinical optimal ratio of 4 : 2 : 1 combined with electrolytes. The solution is indicated to be used as a basal solution for total Parenteral nutrition (via the central vein).
The solution benefits patients by accelerating protein and carbohydrate metabolism better than parenteral solution containing glucose alone as carbohydrate.
TRIPAREN is indicated for the supply of water, electrolytes and calories in central venous nutrition when oral or enteral feeding is inadequate or not possible.
Dosage and Administration : TRIPAREN 1
TRIPAREN 1 is indicated as a maintenance solution for central venous hyperalimentation when glucose infusion is restricted because of decreased insulin secretion in a diabetic state or under various insults. 500 ml of TRIPAREN 1 can be combined with 250 ml of 10 – 12% amino acid solution, respectively.
Usual adult dosage is 1800 ml of above combined solution for inititation by the Intracentral venous route over 24 hours by continuous drip infusion. The dosage should be increased or decreased according to the age, body weight and Clinical condition of the patient.
TRIPAREN 2
TRIPAREN 2 is indicated as a maintenance solution for central venous hyperalimentation. For use 500 ml of TRIPAREN 2 should be combined with 250 ml of 10-12% amino acid solution, respectively.
Usual adult dosage is 1800 ml of the above combined solution by the central venous route over 24 hours by continuous drip infusion. The dosage is increased or decreased according to the age, body weight and clinical condition of the patient.
