PT. OI supported Batik as global cultural heritage

At last … Batik is recognized by UNESCO as one of global cultural heritage list owned by Indonesia after a 3 year survey that involves 6 countries. Batik’s recognition as global tradition cultural heritage from Indonesia was performed on Sept. 28, 2009 and the official recognition was performed on October 2, 2009.

President SBY has asked all Indonesians to wear Batik on October 2, 2009 as our appreciation towards Batik. “The President also asked us to maintain about it”. Culture and Tourism Minister stated and guaranteed that Batik will be continuously maintained in Indonesia, he added.

Last October 2, 2009, Factory Employee of PT Otsuka Indonesia in Lawang wore Batik all at once as one of our appreciation and supportive of Batik as our Cultural heritage.
